Dear Brothers and Sisters-in-Christ,

The ministry has seen quite a few new beginnings in the early half of 2024

  • Ra and Nita started their Bible School stint in Phnom Penh
  • Our Students Alumni Fellowship was initiated
  • Kampong Sleng Community Centre (KSCC) was inaugurated
  • Equip Asia (EA) training commenced for village pastors and ministry leaders at KSCC.

In the latter half of the year, we have seen the progress of Ra and Nita both in their biblical knowledge and spiritual maturity, and the impact of KSCC in facilitating prayers, fellowship, and training for the village church leaders.

The year-long EA training culminated in a graduation ceremony conducted by Pastor Gift and Sister Jiak Choo on 10 December; and our ministry leaders Virak, Chantha, and Chenda were also among those who received their EA certificates.

Village Children Ministry

We teach regularly at the Sunday School and conduct English classes for the children in Kampong Sleng village. We also joined the House Church group led by Uncle Lat, whom we support as part-time outreach staff to carry out home visitations and outreach to poor families in the village.

Rathana manages the ministry at Kampong Sleng and also coordinates with LC and the teachers’ team in all our children’s ministry work across nine other villages.

Youths Discipleship Ministry

In July, we reached an exciting milestone by re-starting the Youth Fellowship at PVCC, which had been paused for three years since COVID. Our homestay youths form the bulk of the Youth Fellowship group, through whom we reach out and minister to youths from the Hope Orphanage who attend PVCC, as well as other youths within the church.

The discipleship ministry at home also bore abundant fruit this year, with five Grade 12 and two Grade 11 students publicly declaring their faith and fellowship with Christ and His Church through baptism at PVCC on 15 September. All eleven Grade 10 students also gave their hearts to Jesus when Nita invited them to join the ‘family of God’ during their devotion.

We concluded the year with the entire Youth Fellowship group completing the Siem Reap Run and, for the first time since COVID, presenting a heartwarming Christmas drama performance at PVCC.

Prayer Requests

In the TBC-Sangkhem (Hope) Ministry, we have 12 disciples serving as a team; where Ra and Nita are the designated leaders, and Rathana, Virak, Chantha and Chanthorn forms the core group working with the rest of the staff and interns.

Please pray that the local team will own the vision to make and multiply disciples and continue with the ministry work even when we will eventually leave the field.

Pray for strength and wisdom that we may equip and empower them properly.

"Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful."

– Hebrews 10: 23
